GroupThinq is designed primarily for consultants who need to manage their growing consulting practice. GroupThinq is a project accounting and time management application which connects everyone with the data they need to bring projects on-budget and create accountability for time. GroupThinq is the missing organizational, time billing & project accounting tool your firm has been missing to be more profitable, more accountable and more organized.

No, you can start with one project, one staff member or one division at a time; ease into it at your own pace. Add a few staff, and you’ll quickly see how quickly teams become responsive to project budgets. In no time, you’ll discover the collective tool which has been missing all along.

We have developed standard Excel templates that can be imported into GroupThinq. Simply request an import template at, send it back to us filled out and we’ll import it into GroupThinq for you. In no time your spreadsheet data will be live in GroupThinq.

Project management applications focus on the project and time-lines. Collective management focuses on managing and connecting your team first to allow them to manage the project. This subtle difference allows your teams to work together on projects in a way that traditional project management software can’t compare.

No, GroupThinq is meant to work alongside and in front of an accounting system, not replace it. GroupThinq is a “pre-accounting” application; that means that financial and time data generated by your staff is directly connected to your controller or accountant. Project managers can create invoices, staff can input expenses, and bills from contractors can be recorded for approval. Groupthinq works at the ‘project level’, which is much more granular and informative than an accounting system. Your accounting still stays at arms length from staff while GroupThinq works in the middle to tie everything and everyone together.

Currently, GroupThinq data is neatly summarized for controllers to copy and paste into your accounting system, but we are working on interfacing with several accounting platforms starting with Quick Books Online (QBO) in 2019. Then you’ll be able to import directly into your accounting system.

Staff add hours, expenses, messages, tasks, etc. to projects as they work. What happens to that data if the staff member ever leaves GroupThinq? Simply “archive” that user under the Admin/Staff section and this locks the user out of Groupthinq, while preserving the associated data with the project.

Project financial information, invoices, clients, and company analytics are sensitive and you want to control access to this data. GroupThinq allows you to control the permissions of groups based on their role in the company. Owners can have full access, managers more limited access, etc. You control who can access specific data in GroupThinq based on their role in the organization. Each staff member has a role, and each role has different permissions in GroupThinq.

Yes, simply go to your Settings (located in the top right corner) and set what type of GroupThinq notifications you want sent to your email.
